Curran Packaging’s journey began in 1980, when Victor Curran ventured into the packaging realm through a daring buyout of the Tube Winding operation from Mardon Packaging Group. Initially focusing on cardboard and fiberboard tubes, the company rapidly expanded its range, from 20mm to a staggering 1220mm diameter.

Over the years, strategic moves and acquisitions bolstered Curran’s capabilities, leading to a pivotal shift to larger premises in East Tilbury in 1985. The ’90s marked diversification into cable reel manufacturing and technological upgrades, propelling the company to pioneer the largest tube-winding machine in Europe by 1999.

Entering the new millennium, Curran redefined focus, streamlining operations solely towards tube production. Strategic investments in high-speed winders and cutting-edge technology fortified its position as an industry leader.

In a continuous pursuit of excellence, Curran Packaging’s commitment to innovation expanded to Convolute Winding for large diameter tubes by 2002. This journey, marked by investments in modernization, technological advancements, and unwavering dedication to employee well-being, culminated in the acquisition of state-of-the-art cutting machinery in 2014. Building on this momentum, Curran Packaging continued to upgrade its machinery with multiple cutting-edge precision winders to further enhance its capabilities in tube production.

Fast forward to 2024, we’ve made a bold move, investing significantly in the SW1250 – an industrial giant designed for heavy-duty tubes up to 1220mm in diameter and 20mm thick. Today, we proudly stand as the go-to destination for a dynamic range of products – from intricate cores to large diameter tubes. Our strength lies in our ability to provide bespoke solutions for our valued customers – the possibilities are endless.
